Job Summary:
Responsible for all sales activities in assigned retention, target and development customers. Facilitate company efforts to successfully take care of customers and resolve any customer concerns.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with those who make the decision as to who supplies the customer
• Build relationships with all people who can influence the decisions as to who supplies the customer
• Develop and maintain a list of development and target customers to build relationships with in order to meet new sales goals
• Meet new and retention sales volume goals
• Understand customer needs and set expectations correctly
• Provide required mix design submittals at the customer’s request and to their satisfaction
• Assist Dispatch in scheduling customer deliveries
• Maintain a high level of urgency to resolve any customer issues
• Know monthly volume forecasts for all major customers
• Assist with customer collections
• Follow current trends in the national/local economy that may impact the local ready-mix market

Position Requirements

College degree in business or engineering preferred

• Three to five years sales experience, preferably in a construction materials environment
• Prior SAP experience and general experience with Microsoft business software
• Ability to build and maintain relationships
• Ability to multi-task and adept at problem-solving quickly
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Involved in professional/civic organizations in the community

Experience in a vertically integrated constructions materials organization preferred

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
