About the Organization Cornerstone Energy Services, Inc. provides engineering, survey and land services to the energy infrastructure marketplace. We provide a broad range of services critical to the initial phases of projects, right through completion and documentation. These services include: process, civil, mechanical and I&E engineering, project management, survey and mapping, and Right-of-Way acquisition. We have expertise and experience in both long linear projects as well as single-site facilities. Our clients are developers and operators of oil and gas pipelines and electric transmission lines.

Position Requirements

Responsibilities

Exercise discretion and judgment and apply design principles to meet project challenges.

Produce designs of facilities, pipelines, and other required elements of energy infrastructure systems for clients of the Company.

Produce drawings, specifications and other deliverables under the supervision of an Engineer or Surveyor.

Work with industry standard design software (AutoCAD family of products).

Prepare complex and difficult electrical, mechanical, or civil working plans, detail drawings, schematics, dimensional representations and as-built records; develop designs and arrange layouts.

Perform calculations and use standard tables to determine dimensions, scale, and linear and angular measurements; read, interpret and apply engineering terminology and symbols.

Strive continually to complete an assigned project on time and within allocated budget.

Attend design review meetings as required.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Standard office environment with standard office equipment.

The employee must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and extended keyboard use and reading of computer screen.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use stairs, use hands, reach, talk and hear.

Must be able to work outdoors and on construction sites.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

May be requested to work overtime and weekends to meet client deadlines.

Key Qualifications

Must have excellent computer/internet skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Outlook.

Advanced knowledge in the field of energy infrastructure design.

The ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

The ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry and financial functions.

Required Experience and Education

Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum.

Three to five years of experience developing design processes and inspiring innovative approaches.

Proficient in AutoCAD.

Travel

Position requires travel (expected to be less than 20%); valid driver’s license and acceptable DMV record required.
