Under the direction of the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor the Lead is responsible for incoming and outgoing goods to meet customer demand. This includes workflow and coordination with other departments on a day to day basis to ensure target objectives are met.


  • Leads and coordinates work instructions both verbally and written among the shipping clerks to verify incoming, outgoing shipments, and prepare items for shipment.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of each team member's performance and identification of training and improvement needs.
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments; receives and logs all incoming products.
  • Responsible for the workflow in and out of the shipping department by communicating with calibration, final clean, final QA and shipping clerks.
  • Prepares all shipping documentation for outgoing freight and packages all incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Distributes incoming materials to proper departments.
  • Studies shipping notices, orders, prepares shipping agenda and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
  • Responsible for maintaining the minimum levels of packaging supplies.
  • Ensures the quality and productivity of the shipping department, which includes on time delivery, a safe working environment, sustaining existing processes and products and compliance to existing policies and procedures in order to achieve our company goals and objectives.'
  • Makes local deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintains log of company truck and maintenance schedule
Position Requirements


  • 3 years’ experience as Shipping Lead.
  • Use of online UPS and Federal Express shipping system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current and valid CA driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Licensed forklift truck operator a plus.
  • knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Knowledge of export regulations, ITAR knowledge a plus.
  • Must be a local candidate.


Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
