Job Summary:
Responsible for all sales activities including lead generation, quotes, and field support per established annual goals and in line with CalPortland's business strategies and values.

• Knowledge of customer base in assigned territory
• Demonstrate the ability to carry on a value-add conversation with business owners and decision-makers
• Maintain regular contact with customers
• Have a thorough understanding of pricing and quote models and procedures
• Support and assist with all projects in the field as needed
• Independently manage assigned territory
• Pro-actively establish and maintain effective working relationships with all support departments, i.e., Dispatch, Q.C., Operations, etc.
• Participate and contribute at safety meetings
• Support and follow all Company policies
• Special Projects as needed

Position Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Ten years sales experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; equally strong motivational, persuasion, negotiation, and presentation skills
• A mind-set for strategic and analytical thinking
• Familiar with methods for tracking sales performance and market trends
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Able to influence decision-makers and maintain a sense of urgency in driving sales
• Comfortable at and around construction sites
• Mid-Level Computer Competence with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Involved in community activities
• Experience managing projects, programs and/or people

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
