Job Summary:

We are looking for a Cement Terminal Ship Unloader to operate and maintain cement equipment and perform tasks for the efficient operation of the cement terminal. This is an entry level position with a great opportunity to learn a trade.


  • Responsible for operating and maintaining cement equipment and performing tasks for the efficient operation of the cement terminal
  • Operate remotely controlled boom for ship unloading of bulk cement
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on docksider ship unloading equipment, front end loader and product piping
  • Troubleshoot problems and perform mechanical repairs to ship unloading equipment
  • Operate a winch and bucket machinery for Barge loading and unloading at the Seattle Facility
  • Operate mobile equipment, forklift, manlift, boom truck, front end loader and crane
  • Monitor product movement to and from storage tanks, coordinating activities with other workers to ensure constant product flow

Shift schedule varies. Ship unloading schedule is 12 hour days, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. 7 - 20 days. Weekend/holiday work often required during ship unloading.



Position Requirements


High school diploma or equivalent


  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Able to lift 50 + pounds occasionally
  • Able to exert 20 to 50 lbs of force occasionally and 10 to 25 lbs of force frequently, climb stairs/ ladders up to 40'
  • Operate a 50 lb. jackhammer
  • Basic welding and cutting skills a plus
  • Able to use various electric and air powered hand, welding and cutting tools
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office
  • Facility is fully operating cement storage plant and must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Requires long periods of standing with frequent squatting, bending, climbing, working on conveyors and/or other elevated equipment, and large handling equipment (such as loader) within limited work space and limited visibility.

Conditions of Employment:

Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
