Description

Astronics Connectivity Systems and Certification (formerly Telefonix PDT and Astronics Armstrong Aerospace) serves as the experienced, global market leader for in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) solutions for aircraft. As a systems certification provider, Astronics CSC has worked on over 100 projects for industry partners to upgrade commercial and business aircraft with new passenger power systems, IFEC navigation, communication and flight safety systems. Additionally, Astronics CSC offers proven IFEC hardware systems, flexible design platforms, high customer satisfaction, and long-term relationships with industry leaders to help make the connected aircraft a reality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assembly & rework of surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components on existing and custom printed circuit boards, using the appropriate soldering irons, heat guns, hot plates, etc.
  • Use of test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, meters, power supplies.
  • Building of test circuits, boards, cables, harnesses, setups, etc. Using or creating custom firmware and creativity possibly tying in with past work on Arduino, Raspberry Pi systems.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written, communicating results and findings with the EE team, creation of test and project reports.
  • Some travel to our Waukegan location.
 
Position Requirements

Education and /or Experience:

Required:

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited program for EE, CE, or ECE.
  • Strong background in mathematics and computer hardware/software.

Preferred:

  • Previous internship experience.
  • Exposure to CAD programs (i.e. Altium Designer).
