Description

Overview:

The Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) is seeking a Programmer/Analyst to join our Information Services (IS) team. Reporting to the Applications Manager, this position is equally responsible for support of existing applications and new application development. Application support includes minor enhancements, identification and resolution of application bugs, and application performance tuning. Application development includes working as a member of an agile development team to design, build and deploy new applications as needed.

Position Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred with at least one year of programming experience having exposure to all areas of the system development lifecycle. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be substituted.
  • Experience with .NET utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Proficiency in one or more preferred programming languages required (C#.NET, VB.NET).
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server) required.
  • Experience supporting AMS (Association Management Software) or CRM (customer relationship management software), and MRS (Microsoft Reporting Services) experience preferred.
  • Good oral and written communications skills required as well as the ability to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and make substantive contributions to division and organization excellence.

Desired:

  • Experience with project tracking, source control and DevOps using TFS or similar products
  • Experience supporting AMS (Association Management Software) or CRM (customer relationship management software), and MRS (Microsoft Reporting Services) experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building web services (AJAX, SOAP,REST, JSON, WSDL,XML , etc.)
  • Experience with MVC framework
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
