Installers and Technicians support our Lead Technicians to install and activate home automation systems, audio and video distribution, security alarm systems, and other low voltage systems. We are interested in people who are passionate about creating quality experiences for our clients.   Responsibilities Work independently and as a team to install and troubleshoot a variety of low voltage electronic systems in residential settings during construction and after homeowner move-in Install and service electronic equipment such as televisions, computer networks, audio distribution systems, lighting systems, surveillance cameras, and related electronic devices Assemble equipment racks and perform related preparations in the days and weeks prior to the system installation date Complete work orders, monitor scheduled projects, and maintain well-organized project notes using email and an electronic record keeping system Confer with individual clients in person and on the phone to determine specific requirements and explain completed work Instruct customers on the safe and proper use of equipment Learn and follow communication protocols when encountering obstacles to completing assigned work Write and submit detailed daily activity summaries in proprietary electronic system Assist in coaching and mentoring junior staff to become more proficient with installation tasks Demonstrate genuine effort and personal pride in the assigned duties each day Perform other related duties as assigned   Minimum Requirements One year field experience in technical trades Working knowledge of residential electronic systems such as audio/video, security, and home automation Ability and willingness to work inside and outside homes, both finished and under construction, in all weather conditions Daily commute directly to the job site up to five days per week; commute to the Sterling, VA corporate office one morning per week Consistent availability Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with one hour break; occasional overtime required depending on daily project schedule Ability to pass a background check to obtain Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) license Own and have the ability to use an industry standard tool set Excellent verbal and written English communication skills Professional demeanor and appearance with ability to interact with clients in a professional manner Ability to lift at least 75 pounds without assistance Ability to stand and work on a ladder for at least 15 minutes at a time Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and safety procedures Have reliable transportation & good driving record   Preferred Qualifications Two-plus years installing and troubleshooting residential electronic systems such as home theaters and home automation Control 4 installation and programming experience Relevant industry certification Active Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) license   Compensation and Benefits Package Hourly wage based on experience Hourly performance bonus up to 40 hours Paid time off and paid holidays Health insurance with company contribution Dental and vision insurance 401k with company match Monthly "tool bucks" Reward points and employee purchase program   Compensation Rate $15 - $22 per hour, depending on experience.
