Complete payroll in a timely and accurate manner and maintain payroll related files.
Prepare and complete monthly payroll related accruals and reconciliations (accrued payroll, accrued vacation, etc.).
Calculate and pay bonuses and PTO payouts.
Coordinate/work with HR and review for accuracy of HR changes into payroll.
Complete annual workers compensation audit.
Complete annual 401k audit.
Maintain accurate general ledger, verify and reconcile account balances and make adjusting entries, update subsidiary records and account reconciliations.
Reconcile bank accounts and prepare monthly cash related entries.
Prepare financial statements, cash flow statements & account breakdowns.
Prepare supporting documentation of accounts and other reports as required for the annual audit.
Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and review of risk areas.
Assist in the design and preparation of budgets/forecasts as required.
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the payroll and accounting/reporting process.
Back up for the AR specialist - review credit worthiness of new and existing domestic and international customers to limit the credit risk incurred by the company, collection and follow-up of accounts receivable with customers, post customer payments, determine whether any shipments should be held or released based on the customer’s account status.
Supervise the AR specialist as instructed by the Controller.
Prepare miscellaneous census and surveys.
Participate in various department-wide initiatives.
Promote self-education in payroll and in the accounting field.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer and Controller with special projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
4-5 years Accounting, and Payroll experience required.
Strong Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Office and Access skills.
Must have experience with a fully integrated accounting system.
