POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION
The Market Analyst is responsible for studying the data center market to support regional expansions and the execution of successful go-to-market plans in new and existing regions. This position analyzes qualitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aimed at increasing competitiveness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis.
Utilize online market research and catalog findings to databases and online tools.
Review competitive financial statements and investor presentations.
Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations.
Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data (including surveys, questionnaires, win/loss calls, etc.).
Formulate a plan and present it to senior management.
Gather and analyze statistical data using modern and traditional collection methods.
Remain fully informed on market trends, research and device recommendations.
Be able to leverage various sources to analysis market dynamics and trends to compare and recommend expansion strategy.
Create a go-to-market plan that supports the expansions.
Establish success metrics and drive the go-to-market plan once the expansions are underway.
Provide pricing reports that include quoted deal trends from competitors.
Contribute and help in maintaining the data center roadmap and delivery dates.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrated experience in marketing or related field.
Possess search engine, web analytics, and business research tools acumen.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Deep knowledge of data warehousing, and mining.
Knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc.).
Strong analytical and critical thinking.
Strong MS Office suite skills (office 365: Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong Salesforce.com and SharePoint skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Statistics along with demonstrable data center experience is required.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in marketing or related field required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.
Able to communicate and make presentations before an audience.
Able to hear and speak into a telephone.
Close visual work on a computer terminal.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
WORK CONDITIONS
Typical office environment with extensive daily usage of a computer or workstation.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a current, valid state issued driver's license.
Must be comfortable working in a highly critical, fast paced environment with shifting priorities
