Share Email Opening Title Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SWVPP) Assistant Teacher  Position Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program (SWVPP) Assistant Teacher   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Base Wage   Description CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: Under direct supervision is responsible for assisting in the classroom to ensure the effectiveness of care and education provided to children. The employee will receive assignments from the supervisor, who will assist the employee with any unusual situations. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists in the application of various age appropriate methods used in teaching children. This includes, use of lesson plans, visual stimulation (both material and classroom set up), and activities used for reinforcement. Assists in assuring the safety, cleanliness, and visual appeal of classroom, materials, and equipment. Applies various age appropriate hygiene and sanitation practices for children. Establishes and maintains appropriate and regular communication with parents. Demonstrates understanding of and implements, as age appropriate, best practices relative to IA/IL early learning standards, Creative Curriculum, focused portfolio, work sampling, agency outcomes measurements, IA/IL Quality Rating System, and national accreditation standards.   About the Organization Mission SAL Community Services (SALCS) strengthens children, families, and individuals to build and enhance thriving communities.
