Program Description

The Academy Gold Production Track is a vocational workforce development initiative designed to serve young people from under-represented communities attending community or technical colleges. This vocational track will bring together for the first time several major studios, the film industry’s largest trade union (IATSE/ International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees), related entertainment guilds, Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, and local community colleges.

This opportunity is with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood, CA, and is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. Job Description

FOR STUDENTS attending LA Trade Tech, Exceptional Minds Academy, Cal State University Northridge, New York Film Academy, and LA Film School ONLY: Are you a student who is curious to understand what happens on set? Do you have a passion for technical areas of film production in any and all aspects? We are looking for undergraduate or graduate students who want to be part of a select group of up to 15 students for this film production track. The Gold Production Track is paid and consists of 8-10 technical workshops on Saturdays with a focus on cinematography, film editing, production design, costume design, and sound.

 
Position Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Students must be enrolled in a vocational, industry trade school, or community college AND be focused in 1 of the 5 disciplines: Cinematography, Film Editing, Production Design, Costume Design, or Sound
  • Relevant professional internship/work experience/training
  • Quick and eager learner with a “can-do” attitude
  • Hardworking, proactive and passionate individual
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Should be working part-time, full time and/or in an internship
  • Must be available to attend mandatory sessions on Saturdays between June 17 – August 08, 2020
