Summary:

This internship is with AMC Networks in Santa Monica, CA, but is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members. Dedicated to creating and distributing bold and inventive stories fueled by the artistic vision of dynamic storytellers, AMC Networks owns and operates several of the most popular and award-winning brands in television and film. Cable television networks AMC, BBC AMERICA (through a joint venture with BBC Studios), IFC, SundanceTV, and WE tv; independent film production and distribution division IFC Films; and premium streaming video services Sundance Now and Shudder produce and deliver distinctive, compelling and culturally relevant content that engages audiences across multiple platforms. The Company also operates AMC Studios, its in-house studio and production operation; and AMC Networks International, its global content distribution division.

 
Position Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Create talent grids and read coverage.
  • Build and/or maintain organizational systems.
  • Assist in the process of conceptualizing and brainstorming new show ideas.
  • Interns will learn how the finance, production, and post-production departments are run at a studio level.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred majors – English, Film, Liberal Arts, Communication.
  • Basic PC skills (Outlook, MS Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Independent self-starter.
  • Strong analytical writer.
  • Organized and proactive.
