Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

The TIG Engineering team is seeking a Lab Technician who will play a key role in development and support of new and existing products. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers and other Lab Technicians for testing, validation, and quality improvements for various power sources. This role will perform required lab tests and maintain all applicable documentation including: Engineering, Reliability, and Third Party testing. Ability to diagnose and correct issues arising within prototypes and released product is expected. This role will also work with manufacturing to assist with solving problems related to production of existing products, and with service related issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to read and understand schematics and connection diagrams
  • Ability to build prototype units with limited documentation
  • Set up and conduct engineering tests - heat tests, abnormal tests, third party certification tests and PCBA validation tests
  • The ability to diagnose and correct issues arising in units from production, lab, and reliability tests required
  • Work with production, service, engineering, and marketing to solve field issues related to reliability and customer satisfaction
  • Assist with maintaining and improving the lab areas
  • Ability to set up and use various vendors of oscilloscopes
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • 2-year technical degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or related field
  • Completion of advanced technical coursework a plus
  • Must have a good understanding of inverter topologies
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills who works well in a team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform a broad range of simultaneous duties
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office suite of products and OMNIFY
  • Ability to write accurate and concise reports is required
  • Limited travel may be required
