Summary/Objective:
The Facilities Assistant 2 assists in the maintenance of office buildings, grounds and loading dock areas, as well as limited equipment within the production area. Duties are performed primarily indoors and require frequent heavy lifting, climbing, working at varied heights, and the ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment.


Essential Functions:

  • Provide on-site repair support. Fix and maintain general facilities equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Inspect, diagnose and make all types of repairs or rebuilds, including carpets, walls, doors, ceilings, restrooms, structures, filters, painting, furniture moves/changes, plumbing and lights.
  • Inspect, diagnose and make all types of repairs or rebuilds to the exterior premises, including irrigation, drainage and lighting.
  • Inspect, diagnose and maintain safety equipment including fire extinguishers and sprinkler heads.
  • Operate portable power tools and basic shop machinery as required for repairs, modifications, improvements, and rebuilds of existing facilities equipment.
  • Support periodic maintenance inspections of facilities for safety hazards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records and report on status of projects and ongoing maintenance work.
  • Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies and guidelines.


Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 - 3 years related experience and/or training in maintenance or a skilled trade.
  • Proficiency with computer software and tablets.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Technical school certification.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Proficiency with Macon or other work order software.
