Job Summary:
Reporting to the CPO, the Vice President, Program Solutions will lead the development and refinement of products and services to help NTC live into its mission of disrupting the predictability of educational inequities for systemically underserved students. Key to the success of this position is the combination of a strategic vision for product and service evolution coupled with the establishment of and accountability for measurable goals and outcomes, aligned to our theory of change, strategic plan and organizational mission.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions: The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. The employee may perform other duties as required.

Leads the Strategy, Vision and Build-out of Product and Service Support Roadmap

  • Articulates innovation and product strategy including product and service evolution aligned with NTC's mission and theory of change in a clear and concise way that can speak to clients, funders, and staff at all levels
  • Collaborates with leaders across the organization to devise, prioritize, and execute on effective short- and long-term plans for product design, market differentiation, and staying at the 'edge' of best practices in the field
  • Identifies competitive products and services and oversees research into these offerings, including product bundling, funding, and pricing approaches
  • Builds clear messaging of products and services value propositions to support collateral development for external audiences

Develops and Refines Products & Service Offerings with Partners and Underserved Students at the Center

  • Leads build-out of program content, modalities of supports, and design of program offerings to provide system-level and school-focused supports for coherence and alignment of professional learning across district leadership, school leadership, teacher leaders, and, in some instances, teachers
  • Lead team to work closely with program and field leaders, including with in-field support, to ensure partner and student needs are at the center of product and service design
  • Works closely with internal learning to build content to capacity-building for partners and internal staff
  • Leads innovation process, including ideation, piloting, and taking solutions 'to scale' when applicable, including technology supports and hybrid components, and effectively manages grants supporting such work
  • Gathers feedback and evidence from clients, partners, program delivery staff, business development team, and senior management on the successes and challenges of products, programs, projects and activities
  • Analyzes the success and challenges of products, programs, projects, and activities and creates a feedback loop to ensure continual improvement across the organization

Represents NTC as a Senior Leader Internally and with Partners, Funders & the Broader Field

  • Develops and manages a high-functioning product design team with the skills and expertise to design and refine content for educators at all levels with coherence and systemically underserved student needs at the forefront
  • Contributes at a high level to Program Leadership Team and works cross-functionally within Program and across other functional areas as a highly collaborative leader
  • Engages with NTC's clients and funders as the academic content expert to support business development and philanthropic partnerships more broadly
  • Stays current on the latest trends in education affecting NTC strategy and builds field relationships to support collaboration and representation
  • Represent the organization in internal and external engagements including external learning opportunities, conferences, and funder collaboratives; may include speaking and panel engagements

  • Extensive experience building adaptive solutions aligned with NTC's targeted student populations (students of color, students in poverty, immigrant students, English Language Learners and students with disabilities)
  • Broad knowledge of standards, content, assessment, and best practices for curriculum implementation
  • Savvy and experienced with technology solutions to support differentiated and hybrid offerings
  • Exceptional creativity and problem-solving skills and ability to navigate through change and effectively manage change management - internally and externally
  • Strong working knowledge of management strategies, financial accounting, human resource planning, customer relations, and implementation of new products and programs
  • Familiarity with fundraising and increasing revenue while maintaining a comprehensive and cohesive brand
  • Comfort with public speaking and communicating both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multitask with research projects, data analysis, and coordination with the executive team
  • Comfort and experience in acting as the public face of the organization in external engagements
  • Willingness to challenge the standard thinking with new ideas, new approaches, and new solutions in a respectful and positive way
  • Strong decision-making skills and the focus and determination to see projects through to the end
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, management, and collaboration
  • Self-directed, able to work independently, and committed to building and being part of a high performing team


  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree or other graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in academic product design and/or product development in service of underserved students
  • Minimum 10 years experience in education in leadership roles
  • Specific experience with teacher and school leadership development is highly desirable
  • Experience in external representation with partners, funders, and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical research, leadership, and strategic planning
  • Non-profit experience is preferred

ADA Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Travel as needed, up to 30%
  • Limited physical effort required
  • May have substantial national travel based on office location/client assignments
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
