Lead Manufacturing Engineer 

Description
  • Business travel required to suppport North American operations
  • Manage all Manufacturing Engineering (ME) activities for assigned Interiors project including, but not limited to on-time delivery; within budget of equipment; tooling implementation; prototype and pre-production build coordination; submission of all Manufacturing Egineering Product Development Process (PDP) documentation
  • Lead Manufacturing Engineering Program Development Team (PDT) to track ME specific timing and open issues to completion
  • Develop and support process flow, layout, and error-proofing/trace diagrams
  • Manufacturing Engineering representative and active participant in program PDT
  • On-site suppport of all launch activities including equipment installation and debug, run at rate, Zero Defect Launch (ZDL) and Start of Production (SOP)
  • Manufacturing Engineering PDP Representative responsible for meeting all manufacturing engineering specific deliverables for each PDP gate
  • Support all Manufacturing System Design (MSD) workshops
  • Support all manufacturing equipment specifications and Request for Quote (RFQ) development
  • Support all cost savings initiatives

  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Capable of Development Failure Model and Effects Analysis & Control Plans

PREFERRED

  • Experience in design and build of manufacturing systems
  • Familiarity with automotive interior materials and construction
  • Familiarity with automotive interiors manufacturing systems, tools, processes, and materials
  • Familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Operations experience
