CPC Youth Services is currently seeking a part-time Homework Help/Tutor for afterschool programming at the Manhattan Community Center.This program offers academic assistance, along with cultural and recreational activities that provide youth participants with enriching and meaningful experiences while equipping them with the resources, support and guidance needed for continued success throughout high school.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provide High School Juniors and Seniors an individualize and/or in a small group setting homework help assistance and tutoring in the following subject matter (Preferably in STEM/English)
  • Mathematics (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus)
  • Science (e.g.Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
  • Assist with the administrative aspects of the L&E programs through data entry, compiling, filing and organizing worksites’ and participants’ folders
  • Support staff with Monthly Case Management of participants
  • Assist with special events, field trips, and programming
  • Co-facilitate and plan workshops

Job Type:Part-time(9hours/weekly,3:30pm-6:30pm; Monday through Friday; October through June)

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Current College Student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Prior tutoring experience, especially with the high school youth population
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a sense of personal responsibility is essential
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated passion for youth development
  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) or Spanish is a plus
