EBCH has an exciting opportunity to join our thriving organization. The Business Officer Team Leader provides leadership for the Business Office team, and other departments as necessary. Duties include collecting supporting documentation for billing, and pursuing third party payer authorizations and ongoing reauthorizations. This is a leadership role responsible for establishing departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with third party billing and adherence to payer requirements for documentation and authorization. This position is responsible for resolving escalated payer issues and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure business processes and efficiencies are met.
The Business Office Team Leader is responsible for reimbursement related metrics and goals developed in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Leadership Team. Ensures documentation required for authorization and reauthorizations are received in a timely manner to pursue reimbursement. Works with all stakeholders in order to meet business needs. Monitors daily metrics and team productivity, and adjusts as needed to meet goals and objectives. Ensures success of team members by providing effective supervision and positive coaching and mentoring.
The candidate must possess exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must possess ability to direct and motivate others in a team fostered environment, and maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Must be detail oriented, and have strong reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to prioritize and organize work in a multi-tasked environment.
Minimum of an AA degree with personal intent to complete BS/BA degree; BS/BA degree preferred.
Five or more years experience working in Revenue Cycle Management; previous experience working with payers. Two or more years of leadership/management experience supervising others in a hospital/clinical setting required. EPIC experience preferred.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and standards, including a working knowledge of Compliance and HIPAA rules and regulations. Knowledge of Third-Party Payer rules and requirements. Basic understanding of other revenue cycle functions including coding, billing, and collections. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software; Proficiency in Third-Party billing system
