The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50+ year history of providing the United States Military with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services is seeking a Mid-Level Configuration Management Analyst.

A Navy Shipbuilding program is looking to implement new tools and methods that support a range of fleet operations in the most affordable manner possible. As part of this effort, small combatant ships will be blue-water, multi-mission and capable of operating in contested environments. These ships will have the ability to protect themselves and potentially others with improved air defense capability, via radar and weapons improvements, and shock-hardened systems for decreased vulnerability.

The Columbia Group, Inc. (TCG) is fulfilling the Navy's need for configuration management and data management in support of this program. The person in this position will be part of a team working in a Government Sponsored Facility near the Washington Navy Yard, and will directly support the Navy in one of its most important and exciting programs. .

This individual will be responsible for configuration management tasks associated with maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management. Individual shall also work closely with the Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle. Examples of expected change management and product configuration management tasks include:

  • Updating the Change Management Database/Integrated Database Environment (CMDB/IDE) with PCW specifications, financial information, technical implications, and status remarks
  • Uploading electronic documents including PCW forms, technical packages, cost proposals, and comment sheets to the IDE for document retrieval capability
  • Performing QA on data entry efforts and metrics reports before distributing to government reviewers for action item closure
  • Assisting the Configuration Management Lead in preparing financial reports and cost metrics; organizing and tracking technical and financial comments from Navy reviewer.
  • Assisting preparation of the Action Item Report/Tracker in support of bi-weekly meetings.
  • Communicating with Database Developers/Administrator to report problems as well as explain required enhancements to the database
  • Participating in meetings, keeping minutes and maintaining action items as directed.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Education:
    • Preferred: B.S. Degree

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience: 10 yrs experience in Navy's shipbuilding configuration management process; relevant degree may partially substitute for length of experience
  • Preferred experience: Experience in managing CM among ship platform level and systems level.
