We are seeking a Mid-Level Configuration Management Analyst at Washington, DC Navy Yard. The ideal candidate will:

  • Responsible for configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management.
  • Work closely with the Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire life cycle.
  • Provide change management and product configuration management guidance.
  • Update the Change Management Database/Integrated Database Environment (CMDB/IDE) with PCW specifications, financial information, technical implications, and status remarks
  • Upload electronic documents including PCW forms, technical packages, cost proposals, and comment sheets to the IDE for document retrieval capability
  • Perform QA on data entry efforts and metrics reports before distributing to government reviewers for action item closure
  • Assist the Configuration Management Lead in preparing financial reports and cost metrics; organizing and tracking technical and financial comments from Navy reviewer.
  • Assist with preparation of the Action Item Report/Tracker in support of bi-weekly meetings.
  • Communicate with Database Developers/Administrator to report problems as well as explain required enhancements to the database
  • Participate in meetings, keeping minutes and maintaining action items as directed.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Masters Degree and 1-3 years of related experience OR Bachelors Degree and 5+ years of related experience OR HS Diploma and 10+ years of related experience
  • 10 years experience in Configuration Management, including at least five (5) years with hardware CM and at least one year working with the Navy's shipbuilding configuration management process; relevant degree may partially substitute for overall length of experience but cannot substitute for experience with Navy shipbuilding and hardware.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
  • Candidate must have current or active SECRET clearance.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in Navy shipbuilding and defense systems; and experience in Navy's shipbuilding configuration management processes. Experience in managing CM among ship platform level and systems level.
