Share Email Opening Title Manufacturing Engineer 3 (2020-007)  Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES   Location Kirkland, WA   Description JOB SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer will support our assembly teams efforts to build leading edge, technologically advanced aircraft power supplies, by developing preliminary and detailed manufacturing plans for the assembly and test of company products, and partner with various Operations departments and Engineering’s New Product Introduction and Product Support teams to release new products and sustain existing ones. In a Lean focused environment, develops processes and tooling to manufacture products in the safest and most efficient way possible, with a focus on design for manufacturability, assembly, testability and serviceability. Independently applies a high degree of creative ability to eliminate waste in any and all processes that helps improve product quality and lower product costs. Works in liaison with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Test Engineering on program and production challenges as needed.. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide sustaining engineering support for Astronics AES production lines. Create build and/or rework instructions for new or existing products. Lead or participate in design and process failure modes and effective analysis activities. May, as a member of Rapid Response Team, provide immediate line down support in order to keep the assembly cells running smoothly. Support Astronics AES lean initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S. Creates and maintains driver measures and result metrics as needed in support of manufacturing operations. Design and coordinate the build of tooling used in the manufacturing and assembly processes for new products. Perform other duties as assigned. This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline required from four-year college or university and five years related experience. Electro-mechanical manufacturing engineering experience preferred. Familiarity with FAA Certification, documentation and testing requirements for class 2 and 3 equipment as required by 14 CFR Part 21 and 25 a plus.
