Astronics Luminescent Systems Inc. 130 Commerce Way East Aurora, NY 14052 Job Title: Stock Room Clerk Department: Shipping/Receiving/ Stock Reports to: Production Manager Salary Grade: Associate 1-4 AAP Classification: Administrative Support Workers FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Revision Date: October 6, 2010 Summary Verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compiles and maintains records of quantity, cost, and type of material received, stocked, and issued, and prepares material requisitions by performing the following duties. Essential duties and responsibilities This job description does not imply that these are the only duties performed. Employees occupying this position will be required to follow any other related instructions and to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of laden, invoices, or other records to verify accuracy of order. Determines method of shipment. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items into containers. Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage. Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Routes items to departments. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Complies and maintains inventory of material received, stocked, and issued. Prepares requests for procurement of materials. Inspects, accepts or rejects material received. Marks identifying information on material. Packages outgoing product according to customer portals (internet based) and specifications. Operates tier lift truck or uses handtruck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area. This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation   Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects.
