Position Procurement Specialist  
Description

Essential tasks of the position

  • Plan and procure materials based on sales forecast as well as supplier and customer requirements
  • Managing the repackaging of bulk materials
  • Analyze and manage inventory to meet established days on hand and service targets across the distribution network for assigned supplier base
  • Optimize the supply chain through master data to ensure accurate lead times, shelf life, source (IE ship directly from supplier vs. hub and spoke vs. buy to order vs. stock in one warehouse and BTO in another), minimums, multiples, units per pallet, etc. for all assigned SKU’s
  • Proper regulatory classification of material through research and direct working relationship with suppliers
  • Build relationships with assigned suppliers as well as internal teams such as customer service, sales partners, accounting, as well as sales and business teams
  • Actively manage supply chain alerts in the MRP system to resolve disconnects in supply and demand
  • Must show analytical aptitude with the ability to analyze large data sets quickly and take action accordingly
  • Experience with conducting root cause analysis in order to develop corrective actions that create a more sustainable supply chain
  • Experience with creating or driving improvement on supply chain metrics (days on hand, service, slow or non-moving inventory, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to react and prioritize workload efficiently in a fast paced environment

 

Quality:

Activities of the position affect quality including quality objectives. Responsibilities and authorities include where appropriate:

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process or quality system, up to and including when necessary stopping production to correct quality problems.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Document problems, steps taken for resolution and preventative action in CRM software and notifying all parties required.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions in areas under your control.
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Perform duties and tasks as prescribed in company policies, procedures and work instructions.

Position Requirements

Education:

  • Requirements as set forth by supervisor.

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in procurement and analysis. Additional requirements as set forth by supervisor.
