The primary purpose of the Utility-Dishwasher position is to perform a variety of duties to maintain kitchen work area in a clean and orderly condition. To maintain assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, attractive manner in accordance with established procedures, and as directed by your supervisor, to assure that the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times.

  • Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  • Other duties include sweeping and mopping of floors, washing worktables, walls refrigerators and meat blocks and removing trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots and pans and washes them by hand or places them in dishwashing machine, utilizing proper infection control procedures.Records dish machine rinse temperatures at each meal washing service.
  • Follows directives on placement of clean dish, utensil and pan storage.
  • Keeps dish room, utility room and pot and pan room clean and orderly and free from standing water.
  • Cleans equipment using specific chemicals to insure sanitary standards.
  • Assists with assembly of items for tray line service.Serves on tray line as needed.Delivers and retrieves tray delivery carts from floors.
  • Assisting in food preparation as directed
  • Processing and storing incoming orders of food and supplies according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assurance that food preparation and storage areas are maintained in a clean and properly arranged manner at all times.
  • Lifting, moving, storing, counting, food stock items.
  • Must understand and adhere to all safety requirements of the facility, Local, State, and Federal jurisdictions.
  • May be asked to provide direction and training to other utility workers.
  • Must be in proper uniform at all times.

 
Position Requirements

Full understanding and effective application of:

  • Sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures.
  • Cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials
  • The awareness of right-to-know issues
  • Use of HACCP protocols
  • Departmental policies and procedures.
  • GED or High School Graduation Preferred.
  • Ability to manually lift 30 pounds 95% and lift 50 pounds 5% of time worked.
  • Must be able to tolerate a noisy, hot, humid environment; as well as cold temperatures from refrigerators and freezers.
  • Exposure to detergents and chemicals used in cleaning
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, turn, and/or twist when necessary.
  • Ability to climb and walk down stairs
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as assigned
  • Ability to work independently; display a kind, courteous attitude, and work in a team-oriented setting with residents, relatives staff and others.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and read English when performing work duties which require this need.

 

 
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time and/or Part-Time  
Shift Shifts Vary - Kitchens operate 7 days a week 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
