Share Email Opening Title Deputy Program Manager - Acquisition  Description The Columbia Group (TCG) is a design engineering and technical services company that has a successful 50+-year history of providing the United States Military with engineering, design, acquisition, logistics management, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services. We have multiple contract with the Military Sealift Command to provide engineering design and ship modification support. We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager with the capacity to grow and develop into the program manager for a large complex program. This position is an excellent opportunity for advancement into program management on a significant scale. The Deputy Program Manager will have principle responsibility for the management of cost, schedule, and subcontracts. Initial areas of technical oversight responsibility will depend on technical background. Responsibilities for technical oversight and customer interface will grow as the program develops. The ideal candidate will perform the following duties: Work with a project analyst to monitor expenditures. Estimate future spending based on spending trends and monthly reports. Develop and recommend cost control measures. Monitor progress of Program deliverables and maintain an inventory of completed deliverables. Monitor the status of work in progress. Provide oversight in areas of assigned responsibility, including monitoring subcontractor technical performance. Ensure technical and programmatic risks have been identified and are being tracked. Actively participate in issue and risk resolution. Assume responsibilities of the Program Manager when that individual is unavailable.   Position Requirements Required Education, Skills and Experience: Five (5) years of experience working in a Defense Department acquisition program. In some cases, we may consider work on hardware development and manufacturing in a commercial environment appropriate experience. One year or more of experience in one or more of the following: Financial management of a Defense Acquisition program Government contract management Shipbuilding (certain manufacturing experience may also qualify) Supply chain logistics Cybersecurity Task and/or project management experience Active Secret security clearance.   Desired Education, Skills and Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Navy Programs.
