Description

Summary Objective

The Tax Identification and Assignment Tax Searcher performs and ensures the accurate assignment and maintenance of agency tax identifications (parcel numbers) for each contract (loan) under service in accordance with report processing priorities. The position assists Senior Searchers in the process of identifying and maintaining all primary state training and resource material on SharePoint as changes in agencies, formats, collection and available internet resources occur. The Tax Identification and Assignment Tax Searcher also acquires tax information for C-service and delinquency reporting in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with supervisor travel assignments

Essential Functions

Tax Identification Assignment

  • Using Tax rolls, assessor's maps, or other indices from contract property addresses/and or legal's, ensures that all tax agencies and tax identification numbers are accurately identified and assigned to new and existing contracts under service based on systems due dates
  • Performs Quality Control (QC) in both Tax Searching Queues and other projects assigned

Tax Data Maintenance (TDM)

  • Guided by established system due dates, ensures that all tax agencies and tax identification numbers are updated accurately within the Tax Data Maintenance system.
  • Performs additional audits as needed for system data integrity and LERETA master file validations

Report Processing Department Support

  • Based on Report Processing Department priorities, obtains and documents tax amount and delinquency information through field trips

Communication within Internal Teams

  • Communicates status of assignments and any opportunities for improving department's performance to the appropriate lead person or manager within the organization
  • Responds within 48 hours to customer inquiries and resolves research requests within guidelines

Customer Service Rotary and Exception emails

  • Completes first pass on all rotary assignments within 48 hours. Maintains follow-up dates and communicates sufficient information in rotary response to requests to ensure clear communication for accurate and efficient resolution of all requests

This position will perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department.

Core Competencies

  • Must be capable of exhibiting professionalism in representing the company
  • Possession of legible handwriting
  • Demonstrate cooperativeness in working with Report Processing and other personnel in fulfilling the searching priorities among tax agencies
  • Ability to be available for extended periods of travel must possess a valid driver's license, and an insured vehicle which can be used for travel
  • Must be proficient in internet searching and identifying legitimate resources for parceling and parcel maintenance
  • Must be flexible in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
 
Position Requirements

Required Education & Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience working in a position corresponding to real estate research
