Summary

Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material and assembling work order packages by performing the following duties.

Essential duties and responsibilities

This job description does not imply that these are the only duties performed. Employees occupying this position will be required to follow any other related instructions and to perform any other job related duties requested by their supervisor. Furthermore, this does not establish a contract for employment and is subject to change at the discretion of the employer.

  • Checks MRP or ROD reports
  • Determine if material on hand is of sufficient quantity
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
  • Writes or types purchase orders and sends copy to supplier and department originating request
  • Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories
  • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid
  • Prepares purchase orders or bid requests
  • Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
  • Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries
  • Expedites delivery of goods to users
  • Assembles RFQ packages that may require making prints etc
  • Files and/or scans as necessary
  • This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience Required

Microsoft Office proficiency .

Proficient computer skills including using a mouse, filling in web forms and performing research via Internet/Intranet, printing documents, opening attachments, and other general computer use.

2- 5 Years of demonstrated purchasing experience

MRP experience

Degree in Business or Supply Chain/Logistics

Experience using Intuitive or other ERP system.

FileMaker pro experience or other document management system.

2- 5 Years of demonstrated purchasing experience of commercial and military aerospace components.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Does not have any supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions within the organization.

Physical Demands *

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to pull handles and push buttons. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
