ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: 1+ years in a customer service focused environment. Experience with homeless, low income, veterans & their families a strong plus, experience as OIS I preferred. LICENSES: Non-Expired Driver’s License with clear record required. VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice with current auto insurance. Up to 70% travel within main county and surrounding areas as needed. OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others. Preferential hiring consideration given to Veterans or military spouses. EXCEPTIONS TO THESE CRITERIA MUST BE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD. Ability to present a friendly and positive demeanor to veterans, their families, staff, supportive services personnel, funders, and the general public. Ability to make oral presentations to large and small groups. COMPOSURE: Ability to remain calm and maintain self-control in the midst of difficult circumstances and emergencies. Ability to respond in a professional manner in all situations. COMPUTER: Working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel; PowerPoint and Access a plus. 45 WPM, 90% accuracy. TECHNICAL: Knowledge of community resources; Federal, State and local assistance programs, housing & utility assistance and disability benefits. MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, WORK AIDS: Multi-line telephone, computer, ten key calculator, printers, copiers, fax machines, scanners etc. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constant – Ability to communicate with veterans, their family members, staff and community/support services personnel to determine needs and actions to be taken. Frequent – Ability to record information, input data into computer, complete paperwork, produce reports. Frequent – Ability to drive safely and recognize hazards. Occasional – Ability to lift, stack, load and move up to 25 pounds from varied heights.
