Description

Seeking a Medical Scribe in our Pediatric location in Warwick, NY. Schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am-5:30pm. There will also be a morning shift every 3rd Saturday morning. Pay rate will be $17/hr.

Job Purpose

Follow establish scribe processes, as outlined in “Duties and Responsibilities,” while maintaining a patient-centered, quality-driven environment. Assist the providers of the office by functioning in a team-based atmosphere to provide quality medical care.

Organizational Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Boston Children’s Health Physicians in its efforts to provide quality service and patient satisfaction
  • Demonstrate continuing education by completing all required annual trainings, as stated in the Training Curriculum, including but not limited to care coordination, population health management and self-management support techniques.
  • Complete annual corporate compliance training
  • Understand and effectively communicate HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and client confidentiality
  • Ensure and/or remain in compliance with local, state and federal regulation

Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create a patient-centered environment
  • Accompany assigned provider into exam rooms
  • Listen to the provider and patient’s conversation
  • Based on provider’s conversation with patient, document:
    • Chief complaint and reason for visit
    • History of present illness along with associated symptoms, attempted treatments, factors that improve condition, factors that make condition worse
    • Past family, medical (including surgical) and social history
    • Review of systems
    • Physical exam (when allowed by provider)
  • Complete the provider’s note under direction of the provider
  • Enter in diagnosis code when dictated by provider
  • Provide care in a patient-centered manner
  • Attend medical home meetings
  • Participate in pre-visit planning
  • Demonstrate excellence in both internal and external customer service
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Experience and Licensure Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environment
  • Sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • Pediatric experience preferred
