Share Email Opening Title Purchaser  Category Business Support   Description Purpose LaForce is looking for a Hardware Purchasing Agent to purchase commercial door hardware from suppliers for contract jobs, sales orders and inventory, while meeting expected levels of profitability. Major Responsibilities Evaluate and understand discount programs, rebate programs and purchasing terms and conditions with all vendors. Maintain relations with suppliers and representatives of manufacturers. Expedite the delivery of materials. Assess and maintain inventory quantities. Evaluate and understand technical aspects of the application of door hardware. Communicate effectively with internal departments to answer questions and assist with solving any problems that arise. Qualifications Associate’s degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school; or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, to practical situations such as calculating actual product cost by applying the appropriate discount structure to a manufacturer’s price list. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Must be able to meet deadlines and be detail orientated. Must be willing to learn additional LaForce computer software.
