Location HDT (Spokane, WA)  


The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will manage the day-to-day HR operations of the Spokane, Washington facility. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, and employment.


  • Provides human resource support and relevant advice to the management team on HR matters including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management and employee training & development
  • Partners with management staff to support manufacturing facility and/or corporate goals
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database
  • Administers local payroll hours for submission to corporate. Previews for accuracy before submitting for final processing
  • Manages production hourly performance reviews
  • Maintains affirmative action programs; maintains other records, reports and logs to conforms to EEO regulations
  • Supports and coaches all supervisors in the administration of work rules, policies and practices
  • Coordinates local recruitment efforts to ensure optimal staffing - Works with local temporary staffing agencies
  • Conducts new-employee orientation ensuring newly hired employees are onboarded and trained to successfully perform their jobs in a safe manner
  • Ensures performance management processes are effectively used by managers to grow and develop their employees
  • Oversees employee committee teams (Wellness & Communications)
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned


  • Administers 401k reporting process
  • Executes proactive and positive employee relations that maintain workforce stability and ensures a highly engaged work environment
  • Conducts HR related training and development programs
  • Works with management and corporate HR in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Performs and/or assists in investigations of employee relations issues.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience; PHR certification desired


Six to eight years of progressive human resource experience; Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Ability to use HR and payroll related computer programs and software
  • Demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
