Banquets House Person

Responsible for the set-up and breakdown of all meetings and Food and Beverage functions, including service equipment. This includes the actual arrangement of all tables, chairs, risers, podiums, dance floors, pianos, and any other non-food service items. Also, direct involvement with the cleaning and maintenance of Banquet equipment and designated convention services in accordance with Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures high standard of Guest Service.

  • Maintaining standards of set-up in conventions services per pre-established guidelines.

  • Constantly striving for complete Guest satisfaction relative to the product, service and facility.

  • Attending training and monthly meetings.

  • Setting rooms with conventions service equipment as outlined on each BEO.

  • Maintaining a positive attitude relative to the job and the goals established for the department by management.

  • Reporting deficiencies in repair and maintenance in all public space and equipment.

  • Maintain order and organization of all storerooms and back of the areas.

  • Conducting regularly scheduled maintenance of convention service equipment.

  • Assigning and /or delivering all meeting-related Guest packages.

  • Organizing the delivery and placement of pre-arranged meeting room signage.

  • Performing cleaning projects as assigned in all of our areas of responsibility.

  • Participate as a team member with all Servers, Supervisors, Cooks and all other pertinent Associates in ensuring an efficiently run operation.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.

  • One (1) year event setup, warehouse or hospitality experience or one (1) year of banquet experience.


  • If required, must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

  • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR's

  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.


  • Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings.

  • Must be able to read, write, and interpret floor diagrams.


  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must be able to read a tape measure.


  • Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.


    While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:

  • Talk and hear;

  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;

  • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch and/or crawl;

  • Handle and feel objects, tools and controls; reach with arms and hands;

  • Regularly required to lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.


    While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:

  • A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

  • A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).

  • Second-hand cigarette / cigar smoke.

  • Moving mechanical and/or electrical components.

  • Chemical solutions such as cleaning, polishing and lubricating compounds.
