Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Operations Manager provides supplemental support for the General Manager, assisting with all site tasks and general oversight of operation and staff.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative

  • Provides supplemental support for General Manager, assisting with all site tasks as needed
  • Coordinates special projects as assigned by General Manager, including but not limited to oversight of any construction and/or major maintenance projects such as securing bids, negotiating with contractors, establishing and maintaining timelines
  • Establishes and maintains rapport with vendors
  • Participates in the budget process and ensures expense guidelines are followed
  • Assists Office Manager with payroll and HR as needed
  • Acting Manager when General Manager is not on site
  • Coordinates property schedule, as pertains to staffing and event sets

Personnel Management

  • Assists with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and evaluation of staff
  • Participates in oversight of all departments, with increased focus on Housekeeping and Maintenance teams
  • Willing and able to assist in all departments such as facilities, food & beverage, and reservations

Guest Relations

  • Demonstrates high ability for guest engagement, leading staff by example
  • Maintains the highest level of guest satisfaction in all aspects of the operation
  • Empowers staff to exceed guest expectations whenever possible
  • Ensures every employee is polite, helpful, and courteous to guests

Training and Safety

  • Works in a safe manner at all times. Knows and follows the work safety rules of the Company
  • Ensures that all supervisors receive training so they may support compliance from their teams
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school education plus two+ years of college or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in hospitality/recreational related position and a minimum of 3 years of experience in managerial or supervisory work
  • Hands-on experience in facilities maintenance preferred
  • Strong decision making and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to give direction and problem-solve
  • Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with property management systems and point of sale preferred.
  • Understanding of budgets and general business accounting practices
  • Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of all data/information related to specific job assignments and Basecamp Hospitality in general
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean 3-year history and no DUI convictions within the past 10 years
  • Reliable transportation
  • Willing and able to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Be a willing member of the Basecamp Hospitality team, performing all duties and functions as assigned and to the best of his/her ability

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

The Operations Manager will use various tools and equipment on a daily basis. Footwear required shall be a work boot or a high-quality athletic shoe providing ankle support. No open toe sandals or flip flops will be allowed on the job. The Operations Manager will be knowledgeable in the safety practices and standards set by the Company, relative to the work environment he/she operates in. He/she will also make it a duty to ensure that all staff is working with those same safety practices and standards.
