Job Summary

The Production Technician's primary job responsibility is to assign and direct a workforce of Production Operators and Assemblers in performing their job duties. They shall also set up and tear down job lines and monitor product quality per requirements. Performing shift reporting of hours and duties and ensuring inventory accuracy via scanning devices and by moving product materials in and out of work centers per established procedures. This is a leadership position that assists the shift Supervisor.

Job Duties

  • Assign personnel to jobs
  • Training of all new production personnel with regards to performing their job duties to requirements
  • Ensure work centers are provisioned with proper materials and equipment
  • Set up and tear down job lines per the production schedule
  • Monitor product quality and record inspections/scrap per established procedures
  • Perform shift reporting as required
  • Coordinate production activities with diverse supporting functions
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines
  • Maintain a neat, clean, orderly production floor
Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements

I. Education and certifications

  • Required: High school diploma
  • Required: Lift truck certification (company provided)
  • Preferred: Technical/Associate’s degree

II. Work experience

  • Required: 2+ years industrial production experience
  • Required: 2+ years supervisory experience (or Technical/Associates degree)
  • Preferred: 1+ year industrial production supervisory experience

III. Job skills

  • Literate in English
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Effective supervisory and leadership skills
  • Able to multi-task and be responsive to changing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Good decision maker with close attention to details
  • Use and read a variety of measuring devices
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and B.O.M.s
  • Good PC skills to facilitate report writing and data entry (data entry training provided), Excel and web based programs.
  • Ability to set up, use, and troubleshoot light industrial production tools and equipment
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability: overtime, weekends, holidays
