Description

U.S. News & World Report is seeking a motivated self-starter with a degree in communications, English, marketing, PR and/or journalism to sharpen his or her external communication skills on the award-winning U.S. News Education team. This position is for one year and is located in Washington, D.C.

The primary responsibility of this individual will be to produce marketing and communications materials such as emails, collateral, campaigns and other supportive material.

In this role, the Education intern will:

  • Work with social media and PR teams to promote U.S. News Education products;
  • Create and execute email marketing campaigns to support U.S. News Education products;
  • Create digital and print marketing collateral to promote U.S. News products;
  • Create supportive product content, such as descriptions and other marketing language;
  • Assist the Education product and editorial teams with internal reporting on and analysis of the product line;
  • Moderate UserGenerated Content based on our Acceptable Use Policy;
  • Research, write and publish answers to community questions;
  • Work directly with universities to help them engage with U.S. News.

 

This individual will report to the Education team.

 
Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (major in communications, English, marketing, PR and/or journalism a plus)
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Digital publishing experience (using a content management system, school newspaper or online blog, for example)
  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge a plus
  • Desire to take initiative, ability to work independently and eagerness to learn

 

 

Our internship rate is $14 an hour, and health benefits are available.

Please note that we will not provide work visa sponsorship for this role.
