Treatment is based on the belief that, through a combination of medically managed care and therapeutic intervention and education, patients can learn to effectively manage their illnesses and cope with the effects on their lives.   Location Signature Psychiatric Hospital - NKC   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Non-Exempt   Shift Days   Position Financial Counselor I   Description The Financial Counselor I is responsible for financial assessment of patients, determination of ability to pay, collection of deposits, negotiation of payment arrangements, securing financing of self-pay liability, identification of funding sources; some tracking, monitoring and reporting requirements, verifying benefits and eligibility and preparing admission folders. Other duties as needed.   Position Requirements Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years prior admissions and/or collections experience in hospital setting is required, psychiatric experience preferred. Prior experience with on-line Admission/Billing system desirable. Additional Requirements: May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated analytical ability. Attention to detail. Good math skills Knowledge of computer software programs.
