Dear Educator:

Measurement Incorporated is seeking teachers to fill the temporary position of Reader/Evaluator during the upcoming scoring season. We are a diverse company engaged in educational research, test development, and the scoring of tests administered throughout the world. Our company has grown to be the largest of its kind by providing consistent and reliable results to our clients. We are able to do so through the efforts of a professional and flexible staff.

Reader/Evaluators will score Smarter Balanced and CAASPP student responses. The hiring process will take place beginning in late December 2019 for assignments starting in early April 2020. If you are hired as a Reader/Evaluator, you will be placed into our qualified reader pool. You will be eligible to work on the portions of the Smarter Balanced project (i.e., Brief Writes, Math or Research) that fit your qualifications and schedule in April and May.

Important Information:

  • You must have a computer that meets our technical requirements.Specifications will be provided in the early stages of the application process
  • If you are a returning applicant or returning reader, be sure the email address you use to reapply matches the one that is currently in your MyStaffingPro (MSP) profile.
  • Measurement Incorporated requires all seasonal employees to have up to date I-9 Forms. New applicants as well as returning applicants that did not complete I-9 forms in 2019 will need to complete these forms in order to work during the 2020 Scoring Season.

Working Hours:

  • Work shifts are Monday through Friday.
  • Morning Only: 8:30 a.m.–12 noon
  • Afternoon Only: 12:45 p.m.–4:15 p.m.
  • Evening: 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
  • Full Day: morning and afternoon hours combined
  • You cannot combine a partial Day shift with an Evening shift.
  • Hours can be modified to accommodate busy teachers; however, all scoring is supervised and therefore needs to be completed within the hours when scoring leadership is present.
  • Educators living in Mountain, Pacific, and Hawaiian Time Zones can choose to work Eastern and Central Time Zones if preferred.

What you Need to Know:

  • Each project has its own scoring criteria; therefore, we conduct paid training at the beginning of each project.
  • Reader/Evaluators must be able to accept and apply the scoring criteria as directed and maintain consistent and reliable scoring results throughout the project.
  • Reader/Evaluators must be willing to operate in a repetitive task situation while maintaining confidentiality and project security.
  • Training pay rate: $12.95 per hour.
  • Scoring pay rate: varies depending on residency (for more information please contact our Web Portal and submit a request to our Payroll group).
  • If hired, you will be asked to register in our payroll system and set up direct deposit if you have a bank account. (see USVI Educators section below)*
  • Payments are made every other Friday for the preceding two-week pay period. (see USVI Educators section below)*
  • Submitting an application will NOT guarantee a position. Selection of Readers is based on prior experience as well as performance (accuracy and productivity), attendance, and appropriate conduct during previous projects.

* U.S. Virgin Island Educators:

  • If selected, you will be asked to sign an independent contractor agreement with Measurement Incorporated.
  • You will submit a timesheet and consultant voucher at the end of each two week pay period.
  • You will receive payment on or before the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent foreign degree verified by an educational equivalency agency recognized by NACES
  • Completion of a Recognition of Reader Requirements questionnaire and satisfactory professional references
  • Access to a home computer, password protected high speed internet access, and a work area that can be secured
  • Currently teaching in the U.S. Virgin Islands or one of the following states: CA, CT, DE, HI, ID, MT, OR, SD, VT, WA
  • Certified to teach in the U.S. Virgin Islands or a state participating in the Smarter Balanced/CAASSP Assessments: : CA, CT, DE, HI, ID, MT, OR, SD, VT, WA
