Marketing and Communications Intern, Academy Museum - Summer 2020 (Academy Gold)

Summary:

Be part of a team that is working on the opening of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures! We are a fast-paced team in a start-up atmosphere that is fun and challenging. You often won't be doing the same thing day to day. Projects will vary as you will work to support both traditional and digital marketing initiatives along with communication programs and events. You will support important work that is meaningful and be a part of a team supporting the opening of the Museum.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in market research programs to help target appropriate audiences.
  • Perform analysis of market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Project manage collateral requests from various departments through the creative process.
  • Assist with copy writing and researching for social media posts, newsletters, and/or press releases.
  • Compile and present data for other departments.
  • Participate in various museum/community events as part of the team which could include check-in, directional assistance, tour assist, etc.
  • Assist with asset collection and management (video and still photography).
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a BS or BA in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • A passion for film as an art form.
  • Prior experience working with one or more of the following: Excel, Power Point, Photoshop, CSS, HTML.
  • Personal projects and leadership positions are a plus!
  • A sense of humor.

 

This internship is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
