Summary:

The Curatorial Intern will help with the research, organization and development of Hayao Miyazaki, the opening exhibition for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. You will be involved with a wide range of curatorial activities and will have the opportunity to interact with various departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute both administrative and research-driven projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Graduate student who has completed their first year in an M.A. or Ph.D. program in film studies, museum studies, curatorial studies, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in curating, film, animation, writing and research.
  • Japanese language skills highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent writing and research skills with a keen attention to detail and a good sense of humor.
  • Impeccable organization skills with the ability to work in a creative environment.

This internship is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
