Description

Role and Responsibilities

VSolvit has an opening for an Engineering Technician IV to support our Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona customer in Norco, California. The successful candidate will assist NSWC Corona, with range systems engineering and sustainment planning support services to ensure operational readiness of Navy’s Tactical Training Ranges.

Responsibilities also include:

  • Perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/ or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies such as modules, PCB, and cables
  • Make continuity checks on work in process and completed using test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF cable analyzers, and voltmeters
  • Wiring and connector placement (both solder and crimp type)
  • Read and understand quality specifications
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
  • Work from assembly diagrams, engineering drawings, BOMs and schematics to make initial layouts and use hand tools and fixtures to complete work
  • May require working with adhesives, chemical cleaners, coating materials and other commonly used chemicals used in manufacturing
 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in electronics and small parts assembly
  • Minimum of 6 months soldering and cable and/or connectors assembly experience
  • 1+ years’ experience with reading and following engineering drawings to build a test or project system
  • 1+ years’ experience using operating test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF cable analyzers, and voltmeters
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring configurations
  • 2+ years’ experience using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ months experience writing and/or editing engineering documentation or technical manuals
  • Possess good dexterity skills with good hand to eye coordination and be able to focus on small pieces for extended periods of time
  • Must be a team player and possess a strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team as well as work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow and take direction
  • Reliable and hardworking with the ability to take initiative and be proactive
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study
  • Direct engineering support experience within a Department of Defense organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills resulting in solution recommendations

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel up to 30% to the various training ranges for component installation support
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
