Dominion National, a rapidly growing and leading provider of dental and vision benefits has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance Specialist in our Arlington, VA office.

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for performing compliance related activities in support of various dental business lines, including Medicare Advantage and Federally Facilitated Exchange Programs.  Work involves assisting with the developing, implementing and monitoring of the Compliance Program at Dominion National to ensure timely and effective compliance-related activities and consistent observance of requirements. The ideal candidate should have excellent organization and be detail oriented.  

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Coordination and facilitation of the Compliance Program to ensure timely and effective implementation of compliance-related activities and requirements.
  • Prepares and coordinates the submission of compliance monitoring reports to alliance partners and facilitates delegation oversight audit processes.
  • Performs periodic provider, vendor and enrollee exclusion screening processes pursuant to Dominion procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Organizes, tracks and resolves compliance matters as they arise.
  • Oversees the timely and adequate investigation of compliance incidents and suspected fraud, waste and abuse reports and referrals.
  • Actively participates in periodic compliance risk assessments.
  • Tracks the timely review of compliance policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
  • Contributes to the development of Dominion’s compliance and ethics training curriculum.
  • Facilitates and coordinates meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare or a closely related field required. Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification required or obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience with compliance and regulatory issues, managed care experience required.
  • Knowledge of dental operations and related business practices, familiarity with government healthcare programs (Medicare, Medicaid, PPACA, CHIP), detailed working knowledge of compliance program structure, requirements and procedures.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, to include formal presentations.
  • Proven ability to interact, work and communicate effectively with individuals at various levels, including operations, senior management and board members.
  • Proven leadership skills, to include self-management, conviction, and example setting.
  • Ability to adjust to changing job requirements and priorities in order to meet dynamic needs and workflow.
  • Ability to handle privileged, confidential and highly sensitive matters and to maintain discretion at all times.
