The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50+ year history of providing direct support to NAVSEA, Military Sealift Command, the US Marine Corps, US Coast Guard, and other maritime clients with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services is seeking a Navy Mid-Level Planning Yard LCAC Electrical Engineer.

PMS 377 is the Amphibious Warfare Program Office for the US Navy. The office manages the acquisition of Navy amphibious ships and craft including:

  • America class Amphibious Assault Ship (LHA (R))
  • Amphibious Assault Direction System (AADS)
  • Ship to Shore Connector (SSC)
  • Landing Craft Utility (LCU)
  • Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC)

This position will work with the engineering team in Boston. The ideal candidate will fulfill the following duties:

  • Provide technical support to the PMS377 Electrical Lead in the management of LCAC and SSC electrical issues.
  • Recommend or critique design changes to correct deficiencies as necessary.
  • Research, design, develop, test, and/or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use.
  • Travel up to 20% of time.
 
Position Requirements

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–14 years of relevant experience in the type of work described in this posting.
  • An understanding of the LCAC and SSC electrical power distribution systems.
  • An Active Secret Clearance???????

 

NOTE: Professional experience can be substituted for an engineering degree if five (5) or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher level position. Additionally, professional experience can be substituted for all other educational preferences if five (5) or more years of specific work experience can be demonstrated in an analogous or higher level position.
