The Insurance and HR Services software development team is looking for a Java/HTML5 Developer to join their team in the role of senior developer and solution lead. The development team is responsible for implementing new products and features for our existing suite of products (Health and Benefits, Workers Compensation, COBRA, Property and Casualty, etc.) to meet the needs of our clients, participants, and internal operations partners. We work with a wide variety of technologies such as Oracle, Java, .Net and HTML5 as a basis for each application and work closely with product and operations to determine how to best design a solution for each business opportunity. Our agile environment consists of multiple agile teams (product owner, scrum master, analysts, software developers, and test automation engineers) working in two week sprints. Software is released on a bi-monthly release schedule, allowing for frequent releases to our customers and internal partners. - Acquire and utilize in-depth business knowledge to support the applications.
- Participate in developing project charters, vendor evaluations, etc.
- Identify high-level functional and technical requirements for applications or features.
- Partner with architecture to develop technical direction.
- Develop system design diagrams for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
- Define development tasks and provide estimates to aid in scheduling.
- Develop and implement moderate to complex applications.
- Act as a focal point to communicate department project activities and status. Respond to questions, research and resolve issues to provide technical support for production applications.
- Share expertise to provide guidance to others.
- Help drive innovative approaches for tackling complex product needs.
- Drive and implements standards and procedures to ensure development consistency.
- Identify code, process, and standards inefficiencies and makes suggestions for improvement.

- Bachelor's Degree in a Computer related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in software development field
