Share Email Opening Title Information Systems Security Operations/Systems Administrator  Category Information Technology   Description The Information Systems Security Operations/Systems Administrator will maintain certification in Comp TIA Security+ or better IAW DoD 8570 and be required to complete maintenance of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages in Xacta as well as the Risk Management Framework process utilized by AFRL for Secret and below systems. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Periodic testing and review as required by ISSM, ISSO, SSR, SSO, and 25 AF System administrator. Operate and administer Windows and Linux servers and workstations; as well as administration of individual projects and associated workstations, servers, network switches, Windows/Linux Operating Systems and Windows/Linux applications not connected to accredited infrastructure application of OS and application patches and updates. Maintain assorted diagrams, interconnection artifacts, and hardware/software lists. Provide completion, remediation, and documentation of vulnerability scans using DoD-approved tools. Perform applicable DISA STIGs and other admin duties as required in support of SCI R&D systems. Work with the ISSO to maintain the network architecture and computational environment so that it is fully compliant with applicable Air Force and DOD policies, procedures, and regulations. Conduct routine maintenance, perform backups, and install upgrades and patches to the systems and networks. Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package/C&A package. Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the IS. Report all security-related incidents to the ISSM. Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package. Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software, or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change. Formally notify the ISSM and AO/DAO when changes occur that might affect system authorization. Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning correctly. Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals. Ensure audit records are collected and reviewed. Responsible for the management and scheduling of the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) conference room.
