The Facilities Maintenance Manager oversees all building and grounds maintenance, ensuring the facilities are safe, up to code, and fully operational. The role is responsible for managing contractors, training new employees, compliance with all safety regulations and working with third party vendors.


  • Plans and manages facilities maintenance, operational programs and vendor contracts.
  • Manages facilities planning, space allocation, upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements.
  • Inspects the grounds, bathrooms, offices and common areas of the office building daily to determine if repairs or renovations are needed.
  • Creates a budget for the regular operation of the facility and record expenses for renovations, repairs and maintenance at the end of every week.
  • Supervises staff and assists with maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
  • Logs progress on building maintenance or renovation projects and assist with general repairs when the need arises.
  • Communicates with leadership team to inform them of plans and ensure any ongoing projects remain on task.

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing or scheduling preventative maintenance by following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Acts as a liaison to coordinate/schedule repairs and hazard pickups within facility regarding air conditioning unit, compressor, faucet/toilet issues, roofing repair, etc.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure all machinery and equipment are functioning properly.
  • Analyzes and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Initiates and coordinates major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).
  • Evaluates vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
  • Responds to and handle emergency issues promptly, including those related to repairs and maintenance, off hours may be needed.
  • Interviews and hires facility employees to help take care of the building when openings for new positions arise.
  • Prepares reports and attends meetings as necessary pertaining to the upkeep of the building.
  • Manages the maintenance of the building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed.
  • Creates annual budget for various facility needs and expenses.
  • Compares costs for various services and goods before choosing the best options for the facility.
  • Responds to facility and equipment alarms and system failures.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes.
  • Maintains technical and safety knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
  • Conducts environmental audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
  • Directs environmental and safety initiatives, such as spill prevention or control, hazardous waste or materials management, waste management, indoor air quality, employee training, and disaster preparedness.
  • Prepares and files reports with government and regulatory authorities including environmental permitting. Keeping in compliance with and abreast of all OSHA and AQMD regulations.
  • Directs all Safety team program and initiatives to ensure compliance with the applicable guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintains a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Prepares cost estimates for moves and equipment.
  • Ensures efficiency of all building systems.
  • Ensures all processes and compliance programs are met.
  • Ensures all utility systems are inspected and in accordance with regulations.
  • Negotiates bids and contracts for third party workers.
  • Coordinates building security and maintenance services.
  • Collects facility requests from supervisor, prioritizes work orders, handles urgent requests.
  • Provides facility support and clean up. Assist janitor in taking out trash, mopping floors and keeping areas clean.
  • Oversees cleaning and maintenance of facility:
    • Vacuums all rugs and carpeted areas in offices, lobbies, and corridors.
    • Ensures the adequate inventory of maintenance i.e. toilet paper, cleaning supplies, coffee supplies.
    • Hand dusts and wipes clean all office furniture and file cabinets.
    • Damp-mops or cleans any spillage in the office, stairwells, and public areas as required.
  • Assists with safety training for new hires. i.e. putting safety packets together, playing videos.
  • Provides a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Creates positive facility experience for all internal and external customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Position Requirements


  • Associate degree in facility management or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years in a facilities management position
  • Proven ability to develop and execute action plans that achieve company goals
  • Self-motivated and works well within a team atmosphere
  • Experience with repair and maintenance as they apply to facilities and production equipment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations such as Cal/OSHA and AQMD regulations
  • Familiarity of Robotic manufacturing a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in small spaces
  • Must be a local candidate
