Job Description Summary

The HR business partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated divisions. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and supports manager with fulfillment.

Job Duties:

  • Recruits top talent within assigned line of business.
  • Responsible for internal/external communication.
  • Drafts offer letters and job descriptions.
  • Provide thought partnership and guidance related to talent management and organizational needs of assigned business units; As needed, partner with various talent division resources within Centers of Excellence (COEs) to ensure appropriate solutions/remediation delivered to business units.
  • Guide leaders and staff through organizational changes, ensuring application of change management principles and best practices.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Assist in resolving complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations in partnership with HR Manager.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal counsel as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Supports division restructures, acquisitions, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Accomplish the delivery of HR tasks during acquisition and integration activities in area of responsibility.
  • Conducts HR training on various topics (i.e. sexual harassment, New Employee Orientation, Supervisor Policy/Procedure training, interviewing skills, etc.) as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration (preferred)
  • 3 - 5 years Human Resources Business Partner experience
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel
  • General knowledge of current employment laws and practices
