POSITION SUMMARY: BASIC FUNCTION

The Senior Accountant is a critical role in the Technical Accounting and Reporting team. This position influences financial decision making as well as process improvements. The Senior Account is responsible for driving the overall accuracy and integrity of our financial statements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide support to the core accounting team by reviewing legal documents, obtaining input from key business partners, and preparing a framework and/or guideline for recording journal entries.

Accurately and timely prepare monthly management and statutory reports and assist with additional Ad Hoc reporting requirements by collaborating with cross-functional teams and analyzing existing data.

Assist with the preparation of stand-alone as well as consolidated/combined financial statements by researching inter-company and elimination best practices.

Assist in ensuring adherence to NTT Group Treasury Policy and manage the treasury needs of multiple entities by working with international Treasury teams and closely forecasting short-term cash and debt facility requirements.

Build strong relationships with key business partners across the business to thoroughly understand the business processes and identify appropriate risk mitigations and opportunities to add value.

Assist all financial reporting responsibility areas to monitor the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting. Assist in the assessment of any control exceptions and coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Interpret U.S. GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance to determine the accounting and financial reporting treatment of new, material, and/or complex, unusual transactions or agreements and assist in documenting the impact on the Company's financial statements.

Prepare technical accounting memorandums as well as policies and procedures as necessary.

Develop and maintain strong relationships and utilize strong business and accounting acumen coupled with strong communication skills to effectively facilitate information flow to cross-functional business partners, external auditors, NTT stakeholders, government agencies, and the Finance organization.

Prepare PBCs and serve as a main point of contract for external and internal audit initiatives including, but not limited to, Sales and Use Tax, ICFR, Financial, and 401K Audit.

Participate in other accounting and finance special projects, as needed.

Regular, predictable attendance is essential for satisfactory performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.

Strong familiarity with IFRS.

Aptitude for leading teams; influencing and galvanizing others to follow you toward a solution.

Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles (business combination, VIE, and lease accounting experience is a plus).

Ability to work with senior management and influence decision making and excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, organized and thorough with the desire for continuous improvement.

Outstanding project management, oral communication, analytical and written kills.

Understanding of an internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.

Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Self-motivated, dedicated, flexible, good team player.

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Excellent organizational skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

7 years of relevant accounting experience in a multi-entity company, which includes 3 years of Big 4 public accounting experience in lieu of private experience.

Experience with Oracle ERP or SAP ERP.

Experience with Hyperion (or other dynamic reporting tools).

Experience with accounting in a multi-entity environment.

Experience with inter-company accounting and consolidation.

CPA candidate preferred.

Big 4 public accounting experience with Fortune 500 clients preferred.

Experience with Hyperion preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred.

Experience with documenting accounting conclusions related support preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

Close visual work on a computer terminal.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.

WORK CONDITIONS

Standard office; Data Center environment with varying temperatures and loud noises; extensive daily usage of workstation or computer.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must work on-site; no telecommuting permitted.

Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver's license.
