Description

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing receiving, in-process and final inspection of products to ensure they meet quality and contract specifications. The Receiving Quality Inspector will maintain all documentation in accordance with inspections.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Promote and ad here to the Core Values and Behavior Code.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials and products by confirming specification, conducting visual and measurement tests, including but not limited to opening boxes and counting the number of items received.
  • Reject and ensure the return of unacceptable materials.
  • Perform in-process dimensional inspections.
  • Inspect final product for acceptance to all customer requirements prior to shipment.
  • Document inspection results and input data in ERP system.
  • Demonstrate ability to use calipers, gauges, jigs and other dimensional inspection equipment as well as application for inspection.
  • Work with management and shop foreman to ensure flow of materials and products into and out of the shop.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure proper packaging, shipping information and item accuracy prior to the shipment being made.
  • Support production in resolution of day-to-day issues, as needed.
  • Maintain work area, equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned; including production support.

Education/Experience:

  • Highschool Diploma
  • 2+ Years of Inspection Experience
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow through on verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to shift priorities based on the organizations’ needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Dependability, integrity and professionalism are essential.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This full-time position operates in a production environment. Physical effort consists of frequent handling of light to average weight tools or materials, some handling of heavy weights, some pulling, pushing. The employee must be able to lift and move items up to 30 pounds. Work performed requires constant alertness and activity, good eye/hand coordination and concentrated mental and visual attention.
