Description

Astronics-PECO, located in Clackamas, Oregon, designs and manufactures highly engineered commercial aerospace interior components and systems for the aerospace industry. We specialize in Passenger Service Units (PSUs) which incorporate air handling, emergency oxygen, electrical power management, and cabin lighting systems. We also manufacture a wide range of fuel tank access doors that meet stringent strength, fuel sealing and anti-corrosion requirements, as well as commercial-grade regulating and limiting controls for the HVAC, commercial cooking and industrial markets. We are looking for a professional Sales Associate to join our Controls Team.

SUMMARY:

The Business Development position for the Astronics-PECO Controls Group will facilitate the development of new business opportunities and increased sales by partnering with distributors and representatives within our territories, identifying new avenues of revenue, and supporting customer needs and product evolution. Works with current and potential customers to assess the potential application of company products and offers solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.

This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation and this position may be responsible for the performance of various functions that may be an integral part of the Company’s overall SOX / 404 internal control structure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following duties and others as assigned.

  • Manage PECO Distribution Accounts and Rep Territories.
  • Analyze territory business opportunities, develops sales plans and execute planned action steps in order to increase territory sales.
  • Build and present product presentations to customers.
  • Share market intelligence about product opportunities that will grow sales.
  • Manage the ongoing sales process.
  • Respond to and anticipate customer needs.
  • Analyze the market and current business performance and develop sales strategies consistent with PECO sales objectives.
  • Understand the current business environment including competition, purchasing, and business trends.
  • Observes safety and security procedures.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No current direct supervisory responsibilities, but may manage subordinates, representatives or distributors in future.

Position Requirements

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experiences:

  • The successful candidate should possess at least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, engineering technology or business management.
  • The successful candidates should possess five or more year’s industry-related sales experience.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large and small accounts.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prospect and close new accounts without supervision.
  • Ability to layout marketing communications/materials.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain technical drawings and data.
  • Understanding of wholesale distribution preferred.
  • HVACR controls background preferred, including BACnet.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • Ability to travel internationally (Valid Passport).
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs.
  • An acceptable driving record required.
  • This position is based in Clackamas, Oregon.
